What Anaconda Gold Borrows, and What It Adds
The engine here belongs to somebody else. Cascading wins that grow the grid row by row, Aztec temple setting, gold everywhere: this is the formula ELK Studios built its Gold series on, and Pragmatic Play has not tried very hard to disguise it.
What saves it is the snake. Anaconda symbols slither across the grid, connecting to each other and converting everything along their path, and that genuinely is new. Anaconda Gold arrived on 18 December 2025, running six reels that start four rows deep and stretch to eight.
Ways to win climb with them, from 4,096 up to 262,144. The demo above is free, and it is worth a look because the base game here is more interesting than the bonus, which is not something we get to write often.

How to Play Anaconda Gold
Anaconda Gold starts on a 6×4 grid with 4,096 ways, paying three or more matching symbols on adjacent reels from the left. Every win triggers a tumble, the winning symbols vanish, and fresh ones drop in.
Each tumble then adds a row. Chain enough wins together and the grid reaches 6×8 and 262,144 ways, at which point it resets to 6×4 once the sequence ends.
- Twelve paying symbols: six of a kind pays just 0.3x to 3x the bet
- Wild: lands on reels 2 to 6, and can expand to turn symbols beneath it wild
- Money symbol: carries a random value from 1x to 100x the bet
- Collect symbol: sweeps up every Money value showing on the grid
- Anaconda symbol: two or more link along a path, converting positions into pays or Money symbols
Read those symbol values again, because they are startling. Six matching symbols pays at most 3x your stake, so ordinary line wins are effectively decoration. Everything meaningful comes from Money symbols meeting a Collect. Great Rhino Megaways reaches a comparable ways count by a different route.

Picking an SA Casino for the 100x Buy
Anaconda Gold takes stakes from 0.20 to 240, roughly R3.40 up to about R4,030. There is no ante bet, which is unusual for this studio, so the buy is the only shortcut on offer.
At 100x it costs around R336 at the floor, and that matters because the bonus triggers naturally only once in 282 spins. A low minimum stake is therefore worth more here than a high ceiling.
Goldrush and Yesplay both keep the floor low enough to make repeated buys sane. Gbets carries the full Pragmatic catalogue, with the terms in our Gbets review.
All three hold provincial licences, and our South African casino reviews hub covers the wider market.

Giant Symbols, Snakes and the Growing Grid
Giant symbols in Anaconda Gold land anywhere from 2×2 up to a screen-filling 6×6. They crush everything beneath them, clearing space and setting up fresh tumbles, and they are the most satisfying thing in the game.
The Anaconda symbol is the original idea. When two or more appear they connect along a path, and every position on that path converts into either a paying symbol or a Money symbol. If Money symbols are created, the final anaconda becomes a Collect.
Money and Collect do the actual earning. Money symbols carry 1x to 100x the bet and simply sit there until a Collect lands and sweeps the lot. Mummy’s Jewels 100 runs the same collect relationship on a fixed jackpot ladder.
Wilds expand on reels 2 to 6, converting symbols below them, much as Mystic Fortune Deluxe does with its expanding wilds.
Free spins award 10, 15, 20 or 25 rounds for three to six scatters, and they can retrigger the same way. The important difference is that the grid grows permanently here: every three tumbles adds a row that does not reset, so a long round can reach full height and stay there.
That permanence is what makes an early expansion so valuable, and it is worth knowing before you spend on the buy. Our no deposit free spins page is a cheaper way to try the round.
The Maths, and the RTP Catch
Anaconda Gold ships in three RTP builds and the operator picks one, so check the info panel before settling in.
- Grid: 6 reels starting at 4 rows, expanding to 8
- Ways to win: 4,096 rising to 262,144
- RTP: 96.54% default, with 95.53% and 94.50% builds circulating
- RTP on the buy: 96.47%
- Volatility: high
- Max win: 10,000x the bet, at roughly 1 in 2,583,979 spins
- Hit frequency: 17.30%, or 1 in 5.78 spins
- Bonus frequency: 1 in 282 spins
- Line pays: 0.3x to 3x the bet for six matching symbols
- Bet range: about R3.40 to R4,030 per spin, with no ante bet
- Buy: 100x the bet, awarding a random 3 to 6 scatters
- Released: 18 December 2025 by Pragmatic Play
Here is the part worth understanding properly. The buy runs at 96.47%, which is slightly below the 96.54% top build, so on the best version of the game buying costs you a fraction of return.
Flip it around, though, and the picture changes. If your casino runs the 95.53% build, that same buy at 96.47% returns nearly a full percentage point more than spinning does. So whether the buy is good value depends entirely on which version your operator installed, which is a genuinely unusual thing to have to check.
On cost alone the buy wins comfortably regardless. A natural trigger averages 282 spins, roughly R947 at minimum stake, against R336 for the buy. As for the ceiling, 10,000x at about 1 in 2.58 million is reachable by the standards of this category, and Gates of Olympus Super Scatter shows what a far bigger cap costs in odds.

Temple, Vines and Falling Stone
Anaconda Gold looks excellent. A vast stone temple looms behind the grid, framed by jungle, and the symbols are carved reliefs of turtles, birds, fish and lizards alongside Aztec masks and a warrior and queen.
The animation earns its keep too. When a 6×6 giant symbol lands it slams down and shatters everything below it, and the screen shakes with it. That weight is what makes the tumble engine feel physical rather than arithmetic.
Sound starts as jungle ambience and builds as tumbles chain, with drums arriving as the grid climbs. It holds up over long sessions and runs cleanly on a phone, though eight rows on a small screen is a squeeze.

Familiar Engine, Genuine Twist
Anaconda Gold takes someone else’s engine and bolts on one good idea of its own.
The anaconda mechanic is that idea, and it works. Snakes linking across the grid and converting whole paths into Money symbols creates sequences that no other Aztec tumbler produces.
The base game is also, unusually, the better half. Cascades, growing rows, giant symbols and Cash Collect can all fire in one sequence, which makes it more layered than the free spins it leads to.
Symbol values are the weak spot. Six of a kind paying 3x means line wins barely register, so a dry run with no Money symbols is genuinely dead time.
The buy is cheap against a 282-spin wait, but check your operator’s RTP build first, because that decides whether it helps or hurts.
So play it for the cascade engine rather than the bonus, and treat the 10,000x as a distant maybe. If the Gold series is already familiar, this is that game with a snake in it.
