The max win figure is the bigger problem. Reputable sources put it at either 1 in 22.5 million or 1 in 225 million, a tenfold gap that nobody seems able to settle. Either way it is the most remote ceiling we have come across, and treating 10,000x as unreachable is the sensible reading.

The number actually worth holding onto is the 1,000x threshold at roughly 1 in 648,456. That is a real target, and far more useful than a headline nobody will see. Tombstone R.I.P. is at least upfront about asking for the same kind of patience.

Calm Water and Cartoon Fish

Happy Nets presents itself pleasantly and without ambition. The grid sits just below the waterline with lush green planting around it, and brightly coloured cartoon fish drift into view in orange, pink, blue and purple.

An elderly fisherman watches from the bank, and the whole thing is aiming for tranquil rather than thrilling. It succeeds, which is presumably the point, though nobody will remember how it looked.

Sound follows suit with splashes, gentle chimes and a swell when the net collects. It runs cleanly on a phone and the uncluttered grid reads well at small sizes, which is where most people will play it.

A Neat Idea, Thinly Stretched

Happy Nets has one genuinely original mechanic and not much else to put around it.

Credit first. After a run of fishing slots that recycled the same collection formula, a random net deciding every payout is a real departure, and watching it drop is more tense than it has any right to be.

The trouble is that nothing supports it. No multipliers, no wilds, no modifiers, no buy, so once the novelty fades you are watching a shape land on a grid.

A 1×1 net is the harshest part. Filling the screen with valuable fish and collecting one of them is a specific kind of frustration that the free spins round fixes and the base game never does.
