Short answer: Playabets registration is one screen. The page is headed “Register in one easy step” and asks for eight things: first name, surname, mobile number, ID type, ID number, email, password and an optional promo code, followed by a single consent tick and the Join now button. Nothing is credited for registering. The welcome bonus (100% match to R3,000, plus 50 spins with no wagering once the first deposit reaches R100) is switched on afterwards by opting in, and if you deposit before opting in you get neither. This guide walks the form, the opt-in, login, password resets and the FICA check, and it replaces our separate login guide, which now lives in the login section below.

- Age and residence. 18 or older, in South Africa. The consent tick on the form is a legal declaration, and the general terms allow the operator to verify age and identity at any point.
- Your ID document to hand. The form takes an SA ID number or a passport number, and the names you type must match that document exactly. The verification team compares them later; a nickname or a maiden name in the wrong field is the most common cause of a stalled first withdrawal.
- A mobile number you can receive SMS on. It becomes one of your two login identities and the channel for password resets, so use a number you will keep.

Below the fields is one checkbox with a long label: you confirm you are over 18, you agree to the terms and conditions and the privacy policy, and you agree to receive marketing (the policy explains how to unsubscribe). The Join now button stays grey until every required field is filled and the box is ticked. Under the button, “Already have an account? Log in” opens the login window, and a padlock line notes the form is served over SSL. Press Join now and the account is created; there is no bonus selection screen and no SMS code before the form is accepted.
🎁 Opting In and Choosing the First Deposit
This is the step the old three-screen flow used to force on you and the new one leaves to you, which is why people miss it. The welcome bonus terms are explicit: the offer has to be opted into, either from the promotions list or on the deposit screen, and that must happen before the deposit that qualifies; it cannot be added afterwards.
- Open Promotions from the More menu or the footer, or open the deposit screen under My Account.
- Find the First Deposit Welcome Bonus card (it is the first card on the promotions page) and confirm the opt-in. The card shows a confirmation once it has registered.
- Pick the deposit band. R50 to R99: match only. R100 to R199: match plus 50 spins at R0.20. R200 to R999: 50 spins at R1.00. R1,000 to R3,000: 50 spins at R3.00. The match is 100% of the deposit in every band, capped at R3,000.

Two things the offer terms rule out
One account and one welcome bonus per person, household, address, email, phone, payment account and shared device, so a second registration from the same house does not earn a second bonus. And the operator may ask for ID documents before it credits anything, which is one more reason to get the names and ID number right on the form.
🔐 Logging In and Resetting a Password
There is no separate login page. Log in, at the top right of every page, opens a window over the page you are on. It has two tabs, Mobile and Email, so either of the identities you registered with will do; enter it with your password and press Log in. Remember me keeps you signed in on that device. The same details work in the Android app.
Forgot your password?
- Press Forgot password? in the login window. The heading reads “Please enter your details below to reset your password via SMS”.
- Choose the Phone tab and enter your mobile number, or the Email tab and enter your address, then press Continue.
- A code arrives by SMS on the mobile number held on the account. Enter it and set a new password.
- If the number on the account is no longer yours, the SMS cannot reach you; the form’s “contact us” link, the live chat bubble and support@playabets.co.za are the routes to have it changed after identity checks.
Two traps. Typing the mobile number with a leading zero on the Mobile tab, when the field already carries +27, fails silently on some phones; enter the nine digits after the prefix. And the address playabets.co.za/login/ returns the site’s not-found page, so any bookmark or search result pointing there should be replaced with the homepage.
🪪 FICA: What Happens Before the First Withdrawal
Registration does not require documents, but withdrawal does. Section 6 of the general terms lets the operator verify you before, during or after registration and the list of what it may ask for is long: ID document, address proof, bank details, cellphone number, email address, evidence of where your money comes from, and a video call or biometric check if it chooses. Section 8 says plainly that no withdrawal is processed until verification is complete and that proof of ownership of the receiving bank account may be requested. In practice: upload a clear image of the ID whose number you typed on the form, make sure the bank account you will withdraw to is in the same name, and do it before you need the money rather than on the day.
The other pre-withdrawal rule is turnover: each deposit has to be played through once before a withdrawal is allowed; skip that and the request is declined or held back.
